We visited Blaine, WA, for the 23rd Annual Wings Over Water North West Birding Festival (www.wingsoverwaterbirdingfestival.com) from 13 - 15 March 2026.
Although it was cold and sometimes rainy, we saw 48 species, 5 of which were lifers for me. Some were too far out to sea to photograph (Long-tailed Duck, Black Scoter) and the Pelagic Cormorants were just too fast for me! It is well organized and offers several guided birding excursions, some for a very reasonable fee and some for free.
