About me

My name is Heinrich and I live in Alberta, Canada. Originally from South Africa, I have had a longstanding interest in birds and wildlife. Even longer than that, likely more than 40 years, I’ve been fascinated with cameras and photography. With the dawn of services like Merlin Bird ID by Cornell Lab of Ornithology, I started taking pictures of birds primarily for identification purposes, but recently I’ve decided to combine the two and focus on bird photography, with the occasional wildlife and landscape photo to keep things interesting.
